Chapter 11 Complex Cases
On January 3, 2024, Chief Judge Michael B. Kaplan, on behalf of the Board of Judges of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, issued General Order Regarding Chapter 11 Case Administration, which established a Chapter 11 Local Rules Committee (“Committee”) to review and recommend changes to the existing Procedures and Rules for Chapter 11 Complex Bankruptcy Cases.
On August 1, 2024, having been vetted by the Committee and approved by the Board of Judges, the Court posted its updated Chapter 11 Complex Case Procedures package, including the Court’s (i) General Order Governing Chapter 11 Complex Case Procedures and (ii) Chapter 11 Complex Case Procedures. Parties should be guided accordingly when processing a Chapter 11 Complex Case.
